Juan Bautista Alberdi was an Argentinean political ideologist who belonged to the so-called Generation of ’37. This group of Argentinean intellectuals were born during the years of the Independence wars and witnessed the environment of the political turmoil of the civil war that erupted after independence. The members of this Generation also sought to explain the incapacity of the liberals to establish a stable government.
